Hey! My name is Jasmine, and I'm the creator behind Sew This Is Love!

The story of how I began: I first learned to use a sewing machine when I took a home economics class back in high school and I loved it! However, it wasn’t until just recently that I purchased a sewing machine and began sewing again. After losing my son in March of 2024, I was left with some of his clothes that I no longer had a use for. I just couldn't get rid of them and I also couldn't bring myself to donate them to someone else. I sought out ideas of things I could do with them rather than just leaving them to sit in a closet, and someone suggested that I have them turned into a keepsake item. I found someone who could make me a bear and sent off his clothes praying that they would make it there without any issues. Getting that bear back was so special, and it’s something my family has held dear to us. I finally had a use for his clothes and something that could help provide a small bit of comfort on the hard days. It was through his bear that I thought about bringing that same joy and comfort that she brought me to others. 

Sew This is Love will be creating various keepsake items using clothes you’ve come to love over the years. Your keepsake can be made from clothing items that represent anything special to you! This could be old baby clothes you’ve been storing away, your favorite sports team shirts, clothes from a loved one gone too soon, college clothes, or even clothes from monumental milestones. My hope is that your keepsake item will be a sewn physical representation of all the love you have held in your heart for whomever/whatever you cherish. I look forward to helping put new life back into your pre-loved clothes!
